Dates: Thursday 8/22 at 6 pm & Monday 8/26 at 6 pm
Location: Ground Floor of Murray Hall (next to Kenan Science Library)
This is your opportunity to:

Learn about the Rho Chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma.

Be informed about Rush and the requirements.
-
Examine what the pledging process will look like.
-
Ask questions and address concerns regarding rush and pledging commitments.
RUSH TIMELINE
Time: 6-7:00 pm
Location: Ground Floor of Murray Hall (next to Kenan Science Library)
Prospective students must attend at least THREE Events to be invited to Formal Rush. Students are then eligible for a bid after attending Formal Rush.
Week 1
Tuesday 8/27
AXS Me Anything
Join us for a “speed dating” event where Brothers and Rushees spend time getting to know each other in small group settings! Together, Rushees will spend time with different groups of Brothers and rotate every couple of minutes.
This is your opportunity to:

Introduce yourself with the Brothers of the Rho Chapter and fellow Rushees
-
Let the Brothers learn more about who you are as a person!
-
Spark conversations about shared interests, questions about college, and random topics (i.e. is cereal a soup?)

Bond and make friends :)
Jeopardy
Wednesday 8/28
"What is a fun time with AXS?" Team up with Brothers and test your knowledge on a variety of random topics from "Phineas & Ferb" to "Taylor Swift."
This is your opportunity to:

Share your knowledge with the Brothers and Rushees

Work as a team to deduce an answer
-
Learn some new, random, but fun facts!

Don't worry, you won't need to know the difference between SN1 and SN2 reactions, we promise ;)
Week 2
Professional Development & Research
Thursday 8/29
Have you ever wondered about research, study abroad experiences or potential internships? Come gain insight into these amazing experiences from AXS brothers and participate in a community/service-based activity!
This is your opportunity to:

Network with AXS brothers

Learn about others' experiences in a vast range of science disciplines and subject areas
-
Gain insight about academic opportunities in and out of UNC
-
Learn how AXS is engaged in community and departmental outreach
Wednesday 9/4
Take a Stance!
(PowerPoint Night)
Is water wet? How many holes does a straw have? How do you pronounce pecan? Come together with AXS brothers and rushees and make a compelling argument for various trivial topics!
This is your opportunity to:

Work together with AXS brothers and fellow rushees

Learn your peers perspectives on random topics

Be horrrified by the opinions of the people you thought you knew

Make convincing presentation and change the minds of your peers
Thursday 9/5
Bob Ross Paint Night
One of the most popular events, channel your inner artist and creative minds as we follow along with an instructional video by Bob Ross. No art skills are required and no need for personal supplies: all are welcomed to join in!

Just bring good vibes for a fun night!
Friday 9/6
Formal Rush!
Invite
only!
The concluding event for Rush, Brothers and all qualifying Rushees (who actively attended at least 3 Rush Events) will spend time together over food and an icebreaker activity. All are expected to show up in business casual attire.
This is your FINAL opportunity to:

Introduce yourself and interact with all of the Brothers
